Finance Project Manager

About

Swan is the leading European fintech specialized in embedded banking. A laureate of the French government’s selective year list of tech champions, “French Tech Next 120,” we are quickly expanding across Europe.

Over 100 European companies have already seamlessly integrated banking services such as accounts, cards, and payments into their products through our Banking-as-a-Service platform. This approach, known as “embedded finance”, empowers businesses to elevate their offerings and create new revenue streams — often times tripling their revenue!

Our founders’ vision from the beginning was Simplicity: that anyone with a fintech idea at 2 am can visit our website, start building, and buy themselves a coffee with a self-issued card the very next day. That vision has taken us far.

Following a 38M€ Series B round last September, we have been doubling our headcount and already have over 230 Swanees across offices in Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Milan! If you’re excited about joining a European fintech adventure, Swan is the way!

  • Lead the implementation of our new ERP system, from scoping to go-live, ensuring seamless integration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Structure and drive project governance, timelines, and change management to enable scalable financial operations.

🔧 Redesign and optimize finance processes

  • Own the redesign of core financial processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Treasury Management), aligning tools, workflows, and people to improve efficiency, automation, and control.

  • Identify pain points, lead cross-functional workshops, and drive continuous improvement.

📊 Structure and industrialize closing & reporting cycles

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings under the PCEC (Plan Comptable des Établissements de Crédit).

  • Lead initiatives to accelerate closing timelines while improving data quality, reliability, and traceability.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and develop standard operating procedures.

🌍 Support international expansion from a finance systems perspective

  • Coordinate the setup of scalable accounting frameworks for new European entities.

🏦 Manage banking accounting and regulatory reporting

  • Ensure the integrity of Swan’s banking accounting.

  • Supervise reconciliation, manage spread resolution, and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations (RUBA/COREP).

  • Act as the main point of contact on accounting implications for product and operational topics.

🤝 Build and empower a project-driven finance team

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team with a strong project mindset.

  •  Structure the team to support both day-to-day operations and transformation roadmaps.

  • Own hiring, performance management, and talent development within the function.

Preferred Experience

You’re a great match if:

  • You have 7+ years of experience in accounting / financial audit (start-up experience is a plus, but not necessary). Additionally, you must have prior experience in a management role.

  • You have already worked in an international environment, overseeing branches and subsidiaries (experience with UK is a plus).

  • You're rigorous and organized: your approach is meticulous, with a keen attention to detail in all aspects of your work.

  • You’re autonomous and proactive: you know how to manage your priorities and are able to adapt to changing conditions.

  • You embrace challenges: you're enthusiastic about tackling complex tasks and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • You’re tech-savvy: you're already proficient or willing to become proficient with modern accounting tools. You like technology and automation.

  • You have advanced Excel and Google Suite skills: you're adept at using these tools to manipulate data and create detailed reports.

  • Our ideal teammate: Empathetic. Skilled. Frank. We love to challenge each other, and we leave our egos at the door.

  • You're Fluent in English: You possess at least a C1 level in English, enabling effective communication in our international environment.

It’s okay if you don’t tick all the boxes — don’t let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying! 🙌
